Day 1 in Phoenix (A Note From Angie)

Three months ago June 6th was marked on the calendar. It was the day we were to meet with the surgeon to find out if all the treatment worked and if Will was cancer-free or not. June 6th has arrived and it was not even close to what we would have pictured this day looking like.

Here we are… in Phoenix, Arizona … the temperature – 111 degrees.  The day started early with the taking of vitals… probably for the 1000th time, blood drawn, followed by a Vitamin C IV.  We met with the doctor for a couple of hours.  He was wonderful.  Very thoughtful, caring, extremely passionate and very knowledgeable about what they do and how they approach treatment.  (They are still working on Will’s final treatment plan and will discuss it with us tomorrow.)  Will was given 2 large jars of green juice and my parents and I were given a delicious raw, vegan lunch.

The atmosphere was full of joy and hope with undivided attention on Will’s needs.  In the afternoon, they even closed off an entire room for Will to take a nap while my parents and I took a tour of the 2 different locations (within blocks of each other).  That was the longest and farthest Will and I have been apart probably since January and we both didn’t think a thing about it.  By the end of the day, Will seemed more hopeful and happy than I have seen him in quite awhile.  We were both very impressed with the clinic and could not have asked for a better day.

Tomorrow morning will start a bit earlier with a “cooking” class on soup.  It looks like Will and I might be at the beginning stages of becoming raw vegans… and we’re pretty excited about it :)

Dear Angie, Will and family and friends.

Every once in awhile in life you meet A SPECIAL COUPLE, who’s love is abundant and a joy to behold. That is what I was priveledged to witness this past Saturday when Angie wheeled Will into the treatment room at Oasis. I was there supporting my sister who is a client as well.

I could see right away that these two were amazing beings. I got to talk to Angie’s parents some and they gave me this website link. I have lots of friends all over and hope through networking to help them toward their goals financially.

My prayers are with you. As others will be. There is an amazing grace at Oasis and it was inspiring to meet others who had been down this road and were back for maintance looking healthy.

Blessings to all of you – your love is inspiring.

    Sincerely, Marguerite Vulfs – California

    Angie,

I am so thankful Will has a wife as loving and amazing and connected and beautiful and knowledge-seeking as you. I’m so happy to hear about you guys beginning a raw vegan journey. I also wanted to share that I’ve been reading amazing things about sencha green tea powder. I believe it’s the most concentrated form of green tea and I’ve read some pretty incredible stories about cancer patients turning everything around with it. More than likely, you already know about it, but I thought I’d pass it along, just in case! :) If all of us can email and share Will’s story and post it on our Facebook, etc, we can get those donations to $65,000 in no time! Thank you for keeping us posted and for just being a true angel on this Earth. Let’s fight with Angie and Will, everyone! We all make a difference!

I am glad to hear that things are going well in AZ. How exciting to be in a place that is so well run and able to give you some peace. Years ago my sister had a rare autoimmune disease that almost took her life. The Drs had tried everything they knew and had given up on her when nothing seemed to work. But she went off all her meds and became a raw vegan and used holistic treatments and made herself better. She is now a 4 time IronMan. Praying this works as well for you as it did her. Praying for you all.

I’m so glad that both of you are doing well in Phoenix. The Downtown Paris Association is having a Songwriters on the Square event and asked me to play. I’m wanting to play a couple of Will’s songs too since he’s the only songwriter that I know of with a gold record and is a Paris native.

Praying for continued improvement and comfort.

This is such a great update. It’s so nice to hear how at peace you both are there. That alone has to be worth so much. What a break for both your systems to feel even slightly less stress. Praying all the more!
