Info on Will’s Music (An email from Will’s Manager, Dan)

As Angie’s brother, John, said in his last update, Will has continued on in his business of bringing people together. For those of us that have had the joy of creating and working with Will, we also know this to be true. There are many of us strewn about the world, and still even more that have been touched by his music, Will’s  life’s work.

Some of you may be wondering how you can access the latest works assembled by Will. In the following email excerpt, Dan, Will’s manager and long-time mentor and friend, outlines the work he’s continued since Will fell ill.

It is hard to believe where we are in this incredible ordeal with Will over these past six months.  Although the overwhelming seriousness of his health issues were clear from the start, I maintained a true belief that he would come through this.  As he fights this battle so valiantly, I essentially put any new initiatives regarding his music and the Broke* film on hold until he and I could again work together to move his creative endeavors forward.  In the meantime, I’ve continued to work toward the release of the Broke* film and monitor Warner-Chappell’s efforts to get  Will’s songs recorded.

One of the plans that Will and I made was to make the Broke* soundtrack album available a month prior to the cable launch of the film.  We had an April 16, date set with our distributors, Snag Films.  However, as you may recall, we had a sound glitch that caused it to be postponed.  Fortunately, Warren Pettit had a duplicate hard-drive and was able to solve the problem, so the cable release could be re-scheduled.  Now, we are awaiting a new launch date from the film company.  Once it begins to appear on various cable VOD systems, everyone will all be able to enjoy Will’s film and the story of his efforts to pursue his music career.   More people are going to discover the amazing friend that we have in Will Gray!.

In anticipation that a new release date for the film will come soon, I have had the Broke* soundtrack album made available for sale on iTunes and other digital retail sites.  I know that many of Will’s friends have long been interested in this music as well as the film.  Will’s stunning performance of Patty Griffin’s “Top of the World” featuring Reva Williams and with guest guitarist Buddy Miller is particularly special.

I would like to make sure that Will’s friends are aware that this music is available to them and that it would be a great way to enjoy Will’s work and also provide them with some additional income.  Will’s EP with Reva, and his earlier EP are also on iTunes.  The best way to find them is to simply put Will Gray in the search.

While we continue to pray for God’s intervention in healing Will, we have been blessed by the gifts that Will has given us with his creativity, his hard work, and his dedication to “making things” as he so humbly describes it.  I’m honored to work with this man.

Perhaps you can pass along the news that more of Will’s work is out there to be heard.

Sincerely,

Dan Beck

Dan, it’s our sincerest pleasure to continue to share (and enjoy) a sampling of the great work Will has done over the past few years. We at #GoTeamGray think of it as a continued way to celebrate Will’s life, his talents, and his fight. It’s a way to bring him into our living rooms, our cars, our iPods. It’s a way to experience true gifts beyond measure.

#GoTeamGray
